Constipation is best prevented with a combination of exercise, a high-fibre diet, and an adequate intake of fluids. Below are some ways to help ease constipation:

  • Increase your fluid intake
    • Aim for at least 2L of fluid daily
  • Increase your fibre intake
    • by gradually incorporating more fruit, vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts and seeds slowly
Our dietitian's recommend 1-2 extra pieces of vegetables across 3 days, then increase to 3 alongside 1 extra piece of fruit from what you are already consuming.
Some great suggestions to increase fibre through whole grains include oats, weetbix or All-Bran
  • Exercise regularly
